Cardboard Stop Motion

This trailer created for the London International Animation Festival was for the Animated Documentary section of the program. The sting focuses on my Dads journey growing up in a council estate in Edinburgh, normally predicted as a negative experience, he shines the light on his fond upbringing.
It was created with Cardboard Stop Motion.
Throughout this 2 month project, I led my team of two animators as the Director of the project. I started the initial pitch that I presented to the panel & director of the festival, all the way to its delivery of the piece. I distributed roles and delegated weekly tasks while maintaining communication with feedback with the client.
I was apart of all aspect of production from art direction, pre production, sound, editing, animating, producing and overall directing the piece.
This project had a wonderful outcome that was well received from the festival.

Traditional Hand Drawn 2D on paper

This thesis film for my MA was a 1 minute piece that was all traditionally hand drawn with pencil on paper. This was a collaboration with writers and composers following the story of a character being resistant to love due to a loss of a loved one.
I wanted to tackle this project traditionally, back to the roots of animation, to challenge myself with my drawing and overall animating skills. The piece turned out well and made me develop my skill set to tackle my major project.
